Introduction
Welcome to my corner of the digital world! I am an early career researcher with a fervent commitment to driving global health impacts through rigorous research and impactful publications. With a PhD in Development Policy from Japan and a Master of Public Health from Australia, my educational journey has been rooted in a robust foundation of social science and interdisciplinary research.
My research interests are centred on applying quantitative causal inference methods to examine the health impacts of socioeconomic policies. I am also deeply fascinated by the application of complexity science in testing and evaluating health policies, aiming to uncover nuanced insights for effective implementation. This passion translates into adeptly navigating complex datasets by integrating information from diverse sources and employing complex quasi-experimental models.
Recognized for my academic achievements, I was honoured to receive the prestigious Australia Award Scholarship in 2013 from the Australian Government, followed by the Japanese Government Monbukagakusho (MEXT) scholarship in 2019. These opportunities have not only enriched my academic journey but have also enhanced my ability to contribute meaningfully to the field of global health.
Having engaged in a spectrum of public health issues, from the continuity of maternity care to investigating non-communicable disease risk factors, my research endeavours are wide-ranging. A significant highlight of my research activities includes crafting the Nepal Global Burden of Study 2017, a pioneering effort that stands as one of the first of its kind in Nepal. This study report summarizes the health sector’s priorities and perspectives, providing valuable insights for shaping policies and interventions. My expertise extends to translating research into actionable insights for policymakers, facilitating informed decision-making and bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice These experiences provided me with a holistic understanding of the dynamic interplay between research and real-world impact in global health
